THIS WEEKS DIVE....

DIVE DATE: Every Tuesday evening & Saturday morning

DIVE TIME: Tuesday 7pm - Saturday 11am

INFO: The boat departs from the coal harbour in Dun Laoighaire.

The boat departs from the coal harbour in Dun Laoighaire. The coal harbour is on the Westside of Dun Laoighaire harbour, close to the West Pier. It is situated beside the new carpark. Remember that the carpark is pay and display.

 
BOAT INFORMATION
  • To dive on our boat "Shadow" you need to be a certified diver having been certified by a recognized diving organisation such as PADI, BSAC, CFT etc etc.
  • You need to show your diving license / Certificate (this must be current).
  • You will be required to show proof of having dived in cold waters (below 15c) within the last six months.
  • You must have a minimum of 5 dives other than training dives. You should have dived on a boat before.
  • You will need to sign a liability release form before departing from the harbour. This form is available on the boat.
  • Don't forget to bring a woolly hat and wind protector with you on the trip to keep warm. After the dive the wind chill factor can cause you to cool down quickly and we highly recommend that you protect yourself from the elements even during the summer months.
  • Hot and cold drinks are provided for your enjoyment along with light refreshments.
NOTE ON WINTER DIVING

Diving in the winter months along the East Coast of Ireland requires a little more experience than diving during the Summer Months. The water is colder and visibility can be poor, so a little more experience is required. Please don't forget about the wind chill factor during winter diving. It is advisable to bring along a wind protector, a woolly hat, and some warm clothing while traveling to and from the dive sites. The wind chill factor must be taken into account during the winter months. We will provide you with a warm drink after your dive to revive your spirit. So don't forget just Dive in Ireland

However, winter diving can be very rewarding. There is so much life to see especially in our area of operation Dublin Bay. See seals in their natural habit, porpoises, crabs, lobsters, octopus, and from the shark family dogfish, as well as a host of other amazing plant life. What about a wreak dive. There are quite a few wrecks in and around Dublin Bay area which we shall be diving over the winter weather permitting.

We will confirm your place by return e-mail or telephone. The opperation of the boat is strictly subject to the prevailing weather conditions. Please check the site for the latest weather info. I would ask you to be aware that the boat may be canceled at short notice due to unfavorable weather conditions. We do not compremise on your safety.
